With roots that draw from a rich past, Il Giardino di Corten offers functional and exclusive design solutions for outdoor living.
The unique and timeless appeal of a special metal, Corten, allows you to reinvent outdoor spaces with design solutions that, in addition to ensuring comfort, durability (resistance), and sustainability, integrate harmoniously with nature and any outdoor setting. This is what Il Giardino di Corten offers, a leading national and international brand of garden furniture and design for outdoor living. The brand was born from the intuition, or rather, the evolution, of Officina Meccanica Schneider, which, with over 160 years of history, has spanned the ages, contributing to the avant-garde and innovative workmanship of precious metals.
“It all began in 1865 in Sauris, a small town in Friuli Venezia Giulia,” says Raffaele Schneider, sole director, proudly, “with my great-grandfather Paolo’s mechanical workshop. Here, metal walkways for aqueducts were manufactured using machinery purchased during a trip to the United States. So many important projects were completed in that small workshop, which became a point of reference throughout the region.”
Over time, the passion and expertise for metalworking have been passed down from father to son: today, the company is run by the fourth generation of the Schneider family. “Building on our expertise,” Schneider continues, “in the 1980s, we transformed our business by building a large factory in Tarcento, in the province of Udine, and starting the production of automatic doors and gates, and later also of high-quality bronze and brass windows and doors. But when we discovered Corten steel, we decided to use it to create doors and windows for prestigious villas and buildings, including the Castello di Udine (Udine Castle).”
Exhibiting at the most prestigious national and international design fairs, Il Giardino di Corten is a true benchmark in the industry, as confirmed by the more than 20,000 unique users who visit the company website each month.
